How We Operate

At Sloan's Christmas Tree Village we recognize that our customers are coming from many different places, both near and far, and everyone wants something different out of their experience.   Some customers simply want to cut a tree and leave. Others want a tree, but also want to spend time outside at a campfire or playing in the forest.   With this in mind, we have organized our farm in such a way as to meet as many of these different expectations as possible.   Please feel free to contact us if anything is unclear and please take note of the special notices.

Please call us or Click here to check the weather conditions at the farm before deciding whether to come or not.   The weather is often not the same as that of the major cities, such as London, Windsor or Sarnia.

Days and Hours of Operation

On the Weekends

During the weekends we have two sites available from which you can cut your own Christmas tree.

Village 1

Village 1 is for customers who want a Christmas tree and a day of fun with activities OR customers who just want a day of fun activities.

  • Open 9 am to 4:30 pm for tree cutting/pre-cut trees. All trees are $39.83+HST
  • Open 9 am to 5 pm for Village Activities (click here for a list of our activities)
  • Entrance Fee:
    • $9.73+HST per person (ages 3 and up)
    • $7.08+HST for seniors
    • Family Rate $44.25+HST (includes 2 adults and up to 4 children of the same household)
  • Note: pony rides, Horse and Wagon rides, large zip-lines and food vendors close at 4 pm

Village 2

Village 2 is for customers who want a Christmas tree and perhaps a campfire.

  • Open weekends only from November 24th to December 9th
  • All trees $39.83+HST (this includes use of a campfire)
  • Just want a campfire and no tree? $4.43+HST per person
  • Food vendors available
  • Note: for the weekend of December 15th and 16th, please go to the Village 1 site

On a Weekday (click here for more details)

  • Available at the Village 1 location only
  • Open 10 am to 5 pm
  • All Trees $39.83+HST
  • Entrance Fee (for those who want to do the activities)- $7.08+HST
  • Please note, limited activities are available during the week, and are weather permitting (no pony rides, horse and wagon or food vendors)

*Train, Pony Rides, and Wagon Ride close at 4 pm and will operate weather permitting.

Also available, but not included in entrance fee:

Cookie Decorating: $3 each or 2 for $5 (includes HST)
Food and Beverages (chip wagon, kettle corn, marshmallows): various prices
Specialty Products (tinsmith, small potted trees and other decorations: various prices

Weekday Operating Procedures

All customers must come to Village 1.

If you come for a tree and campfire only, you will not be charged an entrance fee. If you wish to use the activities you will be charged a reduced fee of $7.08+HST per person regardless of which activities are operating that day.

Please note that there are limited activities available during the weekdays.  Available for your use are:

  • Mini Train ride (operating weather permitting)
  • Zip slide
  • the mazes
  • the tree house
  • Sand Mountain
  • the petting zoo
  • Broom Ball
  • the Giant Sling Shot

Not operating on weekdays are:

  • horse and wagon rides
  • pony rides
  • cookie decorating
  • food vendors

Some activities are subject to weather conditions and their availability does not affect the entrance fee.

Pre-cut Trees

We offer a small, but good selection of pre-cut trees for $39.83+HST.   If you are interested in one, please ask a staff member when you arrive and he or she will assist you.

How to Pay

As mentioned above, we do not take any form of payment other than cash. 13% HST applies to all prices.

If you are going to Village 1, you will pay your entrance fee in the barn when you arrive.   You will pay for your tree when you have cut it and are either leaving for the day or wishing to take it out to your car.

If you are going to Village 2, you will pay the employees when you are leaving with your tree.

Food and Drink Notices

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to either village.

We do not provide sticks for roasting.

There is no alcohol allowed in either village.

Food vendors are available on weekends only if you do not want to bring your own food.

Marshmallows are available for sale at both Villages.
